Question Java 6 Update 10 released

Sun has released an updated version of the Java runtime.. they claim performance improvements and such... has anybody tried it out and benchmarked it against other versions of Java in regards to SageTV?

I've got it running and Sage seems to be chugging along, but I have no practical way to benchmark it.

Just curious!

first, someone needs to declare this Java as leak-free.

I've been using the betas for several months with zero problems. Its definitely is faster in starting up on the browser, and SageTV seems to start faster as well, although I haven't benchmarked to verify that. No leaks here in my experience at least not in Vista.

Definitely fixed two issues for me (installed on server; I use Placeshifter exclusively):

1. The spinning wheel of death when deleting a show has gone away. I delete as I watch, and before the update, I would often have to wait several seconds while the show deleted. After the update to Java, that went away.

2. Music no longer crashes when skipping songs. Usually, I could cause a playback error if I attempted to skip songs too fast (if I skip one, and then skip another before it begins playing). This is no longer the case.

Again, all I did was update Java on the server.
