Hide SD duplicate channels in EPG
Is there an automatic way to hide SD duplicate channels?

Do you mean SD channels that are duplicates of HD channels? Or SD channels that are pretty much the same but show up multiple times -i.e. getting seveal ABC affiliates in the same time zone?

the first one.
I'm guessing you just have to manually edit the epg listings |

I think so since it is not always evident exactly what the SD counterpart for an HD channel is. But won't this go away in a few months, at least for the main networks?

Am I doing something wrong? Also, why, in HD PVR setup is there no channel scan supported? Good necropost - reviving a year old thread.
I believe this would be because the HD-PVR doesn't have a built in tuner - it tunes via a cable or satellite box. Channel scans are generally done when the hardware device can actually tune channels. Doing a channel scan on my cable system would take a long time since there are hundreds of valid channels but many "valid" channels from the perspective of the HD-PVR would say something like "You are not subscribed to this channel". In addition there is no need for a scan since Zap2it knows what channels you get based on your Zip Code and provider. In answer to your first question - I don't know - where I have the same station mapped to two channel numbers, which happens dozen of times on my cable provider, when you disable one the other one becomes active. For example on my system Channels 10 and 149 are both mapped to WGRZ. Channel 10 is disabled and channel 149 is enabled and the Channel Setup looks like this: 10-WGRZ-[149] WGRZ Buffalo Channel 524 is WGRZDT and shows up like this in the Channel Setup: 524-WGRZDT WGRZDT (WGRZ-DT) Buffalo

Many thanks wayner!
I remapped those SD channels (that were disabled together with the HD version - these turned out to be only the network channels) to the HD channel, and manually disabled all the others: SD channels where there were duplicates and others that I don't get. Pity there's no way to have the Guide reflect only "the channels I get" (a la Directv). Oh well!
