Dish Network 322 Receiver Inactivity Timeout

My Dish Network 322 receiver does not have a setting to disable the Inactivity Timeout. It goes to sleep after 4 hours. I am using a USB-UIRT. Is there a way to have Sage to send a "Select" code with the USB-UIRT when a scheduled recording is starting and before the channel change is sent?

What I do is have a periodic event in the STB so it will tune to a channel at 3 or 4 am. I then have Sage record a program areund 4:30. If I don't have Sage tune the channel, I find that I wasn't getting the correct program. This is because I don't have Sage always tune the receiver.

Dish 322 and UIRT (Sending "Select" to wake"

Loomist,

Did you ever find the answer to this? I did exactly this with another IR blaster program but it took some programming and I the results are mixed. I have identified the error in my approach and to correct it would take completely re-writing the thing and I would much rather just buy UIRT if I could make it work as you described.

Using a USB-UIRT, it is very easy. In the remote control options within sage, you can 'Learn a New Command'... simply learn the SELECT command from your remote (making sure teh remote is set to the same address as your STB).. Name the learned command as 'SELECT', then choose this new 'SELECT' command as your prefix.

I am trying to add the "Select" command as a prefix.

Select "learn a new command",
Type "Select", transmit code, and save.
But I can not find any place where it will show "Select" saved as a command. The only commands saved are 0 to 9, plus 211.

What am I missing??

Thanks

That's what I did, works great.

IIRC you have to scroll to the bottom, it doesn't fit on the screen with 0-9.
