C+ Library crashes with DTV Serial/UIRT control?
I just submitted a bug-report on a problem I'm having with my Sage server, and DirecTV serial/USB UIRT control. When you go in and set up a new tuner, and select that it needs an external control system (USBUIRT, Serial, or any of the others), I get 3 C+ Library crashes, which have to be 'ok'ed before sage will continue. Just checking to see if anybody else out there is having the same problem. It's happening on my Vista server, and on my XP Pro network encoder, so it's not just a Vista thing...

This is actually different, I do get the Java dump, but I'm also getting a C+ Library load error popup on the screen (3 to be exact), once those are cleared, Sage sometimes closes, sometimes doesn't, but always pauses the system until I clear those 3 errors..
*EDIT* I just noticed that it's not just the channel thing, placeshifter & a HD Extender crash it as well. moving back to the old version and it is doing it as well, so I'm pretty much dead in the water until I get home (and the WAF is going in the toilet as we speak...). I'm wondering what C++ libraries were updated in the 6.5.1 install, whatever it is has fubar'ed my setup..

I get the C library error also when I go to access the Hauppauge hd-pvr under setup videos sources when running the latest beta. Had it happen on vista and 2003 server.

I stuck my cheapie software capture board on my laptop (running Vista Ultimate), set up 6.4.8, and configured it to run that tuner with a serial DTV setup, no c library errors. I then upgraded that install to 6.5.1, and did the same thing, and then got the library error. I checked in the SageTV/Common folder, and found the same microsoft libraries that are in the main program folder in there as well (msvcm80.dll, msvcp71+80, msvcr71+80 & msvcrt.dll). I removed these files from the directory, and tried again, then the library errors went away, and the setup functioned correctly. I'm going to try the same on my server at home and see if I get the same problem and fix..
If that doesn't work, a system restore to the night before I set up 6.5.1 fixes the problem (at least on my system) after removing 6.5.1 and reinstalling 6.4.8... I can confirm that fixed the problem running 6.5.1 on my server at home(and verified on my network encoder running 6.5.1 on XP Pro SP2 as well). It seems to be working fine now. The versions of those files seem to be the exact same ones installed in the SageTV directory, not sure why the problem though..

I got the same errors on my server (no JAVA dump) when I tried to access the HD-PVR. After I OK'ed them everything was fine. Far as I know it's been OK since. No error messages on the server when I RDC into it and all my recordings have been OK. I'll keep watching it.

We've fixed this for the next build already.
