1080p Artifacts on 720p output

Anyone else having problems with 1080p MKV files artifacting badly when played back on the HD100?

I have my extender connected to a 720p /1080i capable screen via Component w/ playback set @ 720p. All the files I have tried have "movement smear" style artifacting.

I've looked for workaround but haven't spotted one in the forums (yet).

Thanks.

I think I used to have a similar issue but don't anymore.

1080p mkv videos play just fine.

Are you running the latest SageTV Server version(6.4.8) and the latest HD100 firmware?

I'm seeing the same thing. Things look great on the SageTV server (albeit slightly jerky), but on the HD100 it is jacked. It's very smooth on playback, but the picture is very pixelated and looks horrible.

It partially depends on how video contained in the MKV file was created (x264 parameters, etc.). In other cases, there is nothing you can do.

If you start with a full BDR or HDDVD 1080p rip and want to use AutoMKV, I have profile that should work. I say "should" because I don't have a bluray drive myself. Megui may also have profiles that are tailored for "DXVA" playback.
