MCE IR Blaster Question

Here's an issue I ran into this evening. I have SageTV setup with my old MCE IR Blaster system for controlling my two SD STB's. I had the system set to record to programs that start at exactly the same time 10:58 pm. Since it doesn't happen very often that i'm recording two programs that start simultaneously I figured I would watch the HTPC and see what happens.

The first STB IR Blaster started flashing and the channel changed while the second STB did not do anything. Sage started recording the streams from both STB's. Of course the stream coming from the second STB was on the wrong channel so I had to stop the recording and hit CH+ then CH- to get it to the correct channel and then start the recording again.

What I think happened is that HIP or HIPSend was not able to cope with Sage requesting two channel changes at the exact same time. How does everyone else deal with this? I've seen a number of people on these forums use the same solution for channel changing so there must be a solution.

Is there a way to set a delay on the channel change request to ensure the requests are staggered between the STB's?
