Sage and Haali Splitter

Is there anyway to get sage to playback an mkv file with hardware acceleration utilizing the haali splitter?

Every other program I playback these files with works - zoomplayer, windows media player. My graphedit shows cyberlink decoders being used...via the haali splitter I guess.

Try playing back in sage - stutter city, and no icon in the tray telling me haali is being used. I tried a reg hack in some other thread that added the clsid of the haali splitter as an alternative to the registry - didn't work.

I've tried every properties file change I could find including adding the video_frame h.264 cyberlink line.

TS files run perfect in sage - mkv not so much.

I've checked the merits of the filters and all that. What Am I missing? Can this not be done?

Either upgrade to the latest beta or try the beta mpegsplitter.ax.

Smile I finally fixed mine by doing this

I don't know if my setup is like yours or not, but I have struggled with mkv 1080p play back for weeks. I finally seem to have mine fixed tonight by doing as advised in this thread:
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...=mkv+graphedit

I changed this setting to true
"always_use_dshow_player=true"

It worked on my worst acting mkv. It had been working for sometime in CoreAVC and any other player but would not work in SAGE without stuttering. Now it works! waaahooo!

installed 6.5.3 beta - didn't fix.

already have "always_use_dshow_player=true" set

I'm frustrated to tears with this, it's really stupid. Been trying to get this to work for months literally.

I'm considering using some other front end for videos only. Launch it from within sage....any ideas on which one might work good for this?

anyone ever use this one?

If Sage is using DirectShow to playback the file it should use the Haali splitter. Might want to double check that the always_use_dshow_player=true is in the right properties file and no typos.

Also, if you enable the debug log Sage will write a bunch of information that might help illuminate the issue. It would be really nice if Sage had an option to ROT publish the playback graph.

Attached Sage.Properties and the debug log....I think.

I played a .ts movie that uses Hardware acceleration - Happy.Gilmore.ts

I played a .mkv movie that doesn't use Hardware Acceleration(none of my mkv's do in Sage) Edward.Scissorhands.mkv

I'm using sage as a service, and am editing sage.properties

That is your problem. Sage Service uses sageclient.properties NOT sage.properties.

Make your changes in sageclient.

wow - I'm completely awestruck. That was the issue - I had no idea that sage utilized sageclient.properties when in service mode for the ui portion.

Thanks! You the man!!
