HD Playback

I've been trying to get some HD films to playback. I have now converted some HD-DVD's to mkv files with either DTS or AC3 soundtracks.

One file I have a problem with uses H264 and DTS. When played with media player, the Haali splitter comes up and the video plays with no stutter. When played with Sage, the video plays very slowly (I estimate 10fps) and the audio is only 2 channel, also the Haali splitter does not come up. I have tried with and without hardware acceleration and using VMR9 and Default video render.

With the other files (all VC1+AC3)both sage and media player behave the same, the Haali splitter comes up and video and audio work great

I have searched the forums but can't find anyone else with the problem. I'm sure I'm doing something stupid but can't see for looking!

The PC spec is:-

Intel 945 MB
Pentium D 3.4GHz
2GB Ram
Nvidia 8600 video card
XP SP3
Sage 6.4.8

Do you know what codec SageTV is set to use for H.264 content?

Open the SageClient.properties file and search for "videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter"

Post back if you have anything or with what is there.

Also: Do you know what codec is being used for the smooth playback.
