Cool

I love these two extensions.
I feel guilty asking for more but here is:
  1. The TV Info extension is more advanced (Bar is on the bottom, has options). Can you make the Movie Info extensions similar?
  2. The preview on the info screen is squished. Can you keep the same aspect ratio than on the video library screen?
  3. Can we see the media size on the info screen?
  4. When media plays if you choose Video Info you get the original Video Info. Was this the original intention? Maybe that is not bad, because these import do not support preview.

These imports are so good they should be part of SageMC.

Thanks

  1. Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies
  2. It doesnt appear squished on my setups, can you provide a screenshot.
  3. You can see the media size if you scroll down on the right side panel (TV Info) or Use the "Info" button on the remote (Movie Info).
  4. Not sure what you mean, can you provide more info, please.

Its proberly best to keep both imports seperate (TV & Movie). Its also not my call to include these imports in SageMC, but again its proberly better to keep them seperate.

Regards

Ben

For question nr 2:

I am attaching 2 screenshots to show you.
The first screenshot shows the Video library with thumbnails
The second is a screenshot from Movie Info the DVD cover has the thumbnail squished on it.

I think the problem will appear with all thumbnails generated from Wide screen media. Assuming that we are using wide screen displays background.jpg has to be layout but folder.jpg has to be portrait format.

However thumbnails will likely be layout/wide screen format.

Wink

For question Nr 4:
Play a file.
Press the Option button.
Choose Video Info (the first one)
You can now see the original Movie Info.

I included 2 attachment to show you.

Cheers

Is there a way to include somewhere on the screen the resolution and framerate of the video track of the file?? It would come handy for encodes that has 24fps (since I have configured to switch to 24hz on my LCD TV so movies plays more smooth)

No, I mapped a key on my remote, which executes a command that switched between 24 and 60Hz, but it will nice If I could see if the file im actually bout to play is 24 or 30/60 so I can set up the Hz before starting the playback

Updated 30/12/2008 to work with SageMC v6.3.8b pre-release 6.

It will only work with version v6.3.8b pre-release 6 and is NOT backwards compatible with previous releases of SageMC. Their are no other enhancements other than to work with the new release of SageMC.

Regards

Ben

I installed and LOVE the look of it all.

I noticed my external player doesn't work anymore.

I also noticed a post of someone mentioning this and the comment of "Don't hold your breath".

You have done an absolutely amazing job with this but unfortunately I need my external player to work.

Is there any way the SageMC developer can assist you to get the external player to work?

Great work regardless that I personally can't use it right now.

I dont use an external player, but could you give me a brief explanation of how it works? Does it just launch from a custom button?

Thank you for taking a look at this.

In SageMC -> Settings -> External Programs, external players can be "Enabled". For each Player that is "Enabled" (eg. External Media Player), when a user plays a file of that type SageMC looks for a corresponding .cmd file in the SageMCE folder (eg. C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\SageMCE) and runs that batch file instead of starting the internal Sage Media Player.

I have both External Media Player and External DVD Player Enabled in the SageMC External Programs settings.

When I play a media file (eg. AVI), SageMC looks for and runs the batch file media_player.cmd.

My media_player.cmd has the following:
"C:\Program Files\Zoom Player\zplayer.exe" /F /Q /MOUSEOFF /AR:2 %1

Therefore, when I play an AVI file Zoom Player plays the file instead of Sage Media Player.

FYI: The External DVD Player runs dvd_player.cmd.

A true thank you if you can look into this.

Ok, Thanks for that.

I'll see what I can do.

Fanart doesn't load for media based files

I wanted to say a big thanks for this STVi! I have downloaded fanart and high res dvd cover art for all 400+ DVD's in my collection.

I also have some bluray rips (yes, I own the original discs), but they are not loading the fanart in the movie info screen. Regular dvd's work, but not the HD video's or other imported video files.

The directory structure is:
//nas/1tb2/DVDs/ (works)
//nas/1tb2/HD/ (doesn't work for mkv or m2ts files, but it does add the little HD logo to the cover)
//nas/1tb2/Digital Videos/ (doesn't work for avi files)

The media based backgrounds work for the HD files and were tested using the debug version from this thread:
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37613

Any help is appreciated.

very nice

Great work on this import. I love the layout!

Did you mention back on 12-12 that you were going to fix "catagory"? I'm using the latest version and it is still misspelled, fwiw.

The last update was only to make it work with the latest SageMC release. The newer unreleased version of the import has the fixed spelling mistake.
