Are there any software updates for the SageTV that will allow it to play files with DTS sound? Thanks.

If you have a receiver then passing DTS to it should work by configuring your audio decoder to pass it through.

Is this what you want to do or do you mean decode dts to 2 channel stereo?

Ok, i'll try those options but what I have is a movie (.mkv file) that has DTS sound on it. As far as I know, the Sage media extender will only play AC3 sound. I hope this helps you all help me. Thanks again.

Reclock is an audio renderer for windows, Slysoft seems to be releasing the most recent version on their forums.

Maybe we should back way up. Are you talking about DTS in videos/movies, or audio files? How are you outputing the audio?

I am talking about DTS sound in movies. Here is my full scenario:

I have a movie that is in 720p resolution and has DTS sound to it. It is in the file format of .mkv. So i move that file into the folder I have created that allows me to access it on my SageTV media player. So i go downstairs to my TV, turn it on and my SageTV on and try to play the movie. As far as the picture goes, everything is just fine. The only problem is, I cannot hear my movie because it has DTS sound and apparently the SageTV cannot read DTS sound. So I have a great looking movie, but no sound.

Thanks again for your help.

do you have an external audio receiver with DTS/Dolby decoding? (ie, do you want Sage to passthrough the digital audio to an external device) or are you trying to get Sage to output a stereo down mix from the DTS audio?

There was a configuration option added back with 6.4.5 to add the line 'miniclient/disabled_audio_codecs' to the extender properties file to disable DTS streaming and force it to be transcoded. Is that what you are looking for?

You can read more on it here: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34142
