Strange osd whiteouts when using EVR

Whenever I perform an action on the remote that causes an osd change (like increasing volume) the entire screen whites out (becomwa totally white). It is fairly easy to overcome by ensuring that I perform an action that ends up on the menu (like pressing ok to get the to the program info window) but is annoying none the less.

It only happens when I have video playing and use the EVR render setting. I amk on vist 64bit using ATI catalyst 8.11.

Has anyone else had this issue and is it known about? If not I will submit a bug report.

EVR only works on my Vista/ATI box if you set the Catalyst performance preset to Performance, then reboot the computer. Otherwise the OSD turns pastel-blue and corrupts the video playback.

No problems with my nVidia 8800GTS card.

ATI catalyst 8.12 is out now too. Upgrade, maybe it'll help...

Thanks for the replies. I upgraded last night and it still happened, so I will try that preset when I get work form work.

The 8.12 caused my computer to crash coming out of hibernate and didn't solve the problem. I went back to 8.10 and it all seems fine now.

It also looks a lot better once I switched off the noise reduction setting in the CCC, which is a relief as the washed out look was driving me mad!
