Desperate! External media player setup?
I would like to configure Sagetv so that when I a select a *.rec file
it switches to vlc or media player classic to play it & then returns to sagetv when It finishes. I have attempted to try all of the existing plugins, I am using sagetv 6.4 . Half my Library is .rec files, if this doesn't work I can write-off the $100 Aus I paid for this. Please! if anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. David Korabell

If you are using the default STV then install the Dynamic Menus plugin and call your executable or batch file from there. If you're using the Sage MC 169 STV it has it builtin. You just need to edit some command files to use an external player. Or did you try adding the .rec extension to the .properties file and try to play it?
