how to install comskip?

Iam runing SageTV 6.4.8 and i followed these instructions for installing comskip with comskip monitor

But it doesnt always run or at least appear to. I say appear because when i look at the recorded show it made comskip files but skips NO commercials. But other times it seems to run fine.
If i delete the comskip files in sageTv and then click on run comskip in sageTV it doesnt seem to do anything.

I have been doing some searching and have read that SageMC can run comskip. First off whats sageMC. Plus how is that installed.
Is there a step by step installation or is the link i posted above the best way to do comskip with comskip monitor.
Please if you have a sugestion like use this or that instead please post a link as iam rather new to SageTV and alot of the terms sometimes used here i dont no what they mean.

There are two possibilities here:
1. Comskip has not finish processing the file. Comskip does not produce the .edl file until it finish processing the whole file.
2. Comskip detect no commercial in the recording, and further tuning is necessary.

I don't believe those menu selection does anything (it is very old code). In your case, Comskip is only triggered by Comskip Monitor.
