Recordings showing up in my Imported Videos
I moved my Sage Server to a new machine the other day, and relocated my recordings as well. I had sage pick up the recordings by setting the advanced_video_file_recovery=true in the properties file.
It all went well. However, now all my recordings are showing up in the Imported Videos folder, AS WELL as my recordings folder. No matter what I try I can't get rid of the things I've removed all the folders from the Media Center Import list, and re-added only the folder with my DVD images in it, and they still appear. They even appear when I have no folders configured. Argh? The only thing I can find in the config that mentions that folder is seeker/video_storage, and I assume that is the recordings folder configuration. The recordings and the imported media are on the same drive, but different folders: E:\Sage - recordings folder E:\Video - media folder Sage v6.4.8 Default STV, although they appear on my extender as well which is running SageMC, so I assume it's nothing to do with that. Any ideas? Thanks |

This happened to me as well. I recently upgraded my server and had to reinstall windows and sage. I had always used "E:\SageTV" as my recordings folder and that did not change. After pulling my hair out over this I decided to move the recordings to an entirely new folder (I also figured this would be a good time to switch to an UNC path as well). I followed the FAQ for moving to a new folder and using advanced_video_file_recovery=true and it fixed this problem. I don't know if you were using the same path as before but I think it is somehow related to that. To sum up I would try moving all the records to a new completely different folder and see if that does it. Also I think you need to turn the service off while doing this.

I tried that after creating this thread. However, I didn't change the drive, just the folder.
I moved everything using the advanced method, switching from E:\Sage to E:\Recordings. They still appear in the imported videos. I'll try switching to a UNC path tonight and see if that works. Thanks |

So i tried a little more.
I moved it to a UNC path. Same behaviour. I removed all media import folders, and they still show up. I removed all the recordings folders, and the go away from the Imported Videos. I then added back the folder the recordings are in as a recording folder, and had the advanced option turned on, my recordings show up again in both Sage Recordings, and the Imported Videos folder. Argh. |

The only other thing I can think of is I was running a previous version of Sage on my old machine, 6.3 or something possibly. I wonder if the .properties file has changed between the 2 versions causing this issue.
Tomorrow I will reinstall and reconfigure from scratch while keeping my wiz.bin (I am loathe to do this, as the bloody channel scan on my HVR-1600 QAM takes forever ). |

So I reinstalled. Removed the sage folder, started from a clean properties etc.
Same behaviour. Guess I need to submit a support ticket. |

Same thing here. However I was able to fix it with the standard method and then only the recorded videos that no longer are in the EPG show up in my Imported Videos folder. Seems like when you move recordings around, if Sage cannot find a corresponding match in the EPG it doesn't list them as a recording, just a video. There are some threads that talk about this and offer advise on how to try to get Sage to match your recording with a different (but same) one in the EPG. Mine was just plain gone. I'm waiting for a rerun to show up and hopefully Sage will then match it and put it back into my recordings.

All of your recording files have ID's in the file names and Sage uses those to keep track of the shows in the wiz.bin database. But if Sage sees a show and it doesn't recognize the recording ID in the wiz.bin it assumes its just a regular imported video and imports it as such.
Its pretty rare, but there are a few cases when your wiz.bin can be corrupted during normal usage or during an upgrade to the point where it will have to revert back to an old version and any files it finds that aren't in the old version will get imported as regular videos. |
