Latest version of SageMV SageMC v6.3.8b pre-release 6 Question

Is there a discussion thread for new releases?

Can someone please explain this?

"Added: Context sensitive Fanart can be displayed in Guide, My TV, Recorded TV, Archived TV screens, and Recent/Upcoming recordings widgets on Main Menu when ‘Context Sensitive Fan Art’ is enabled under Global Display settings. Feature can be separately disabled in the Guide under the EPG screen specific settings."

Does this allow fanart to be displayed in the background of these menus? If so, where is it referencing? As in, do I need to add a "My TV.jpg" file to the fanart directory?

I think this refers to a new feature where the background changes as you navigate over items that have a TV show/movie names associated with them.

i.e. - If you're in the program guide and scroll over an episode of House, your House fanart will pop up.

Regarding the "context sensitive fanart" I Just tried it out and I like it. The wife thinks it a little "busy" though. Gonna have to try it on the big-screen for a while and get a better feel.

I'm curious about how the "Change: Added Intelligent Sorting to Recorded TV screen" works? Anyone know what changed there?

This was requested by autoboy. I believe it sorts by priority, according to SageTV (i.e. Manual recordings first and IR last). Intelligent sorting was not previously available in SageMC.

That sounds really nice. Is it resource intensive?

I'm going to go test it on my extender.

Not really, I have a little slow down but nothing that would put me off using it. I have to say the HD200 does seem slightly quicker than the HD100 but that could be more of a network issue.

I like the context sensitive stuff, although I'm glad there's an option for the guide cuz that gets a little too busy!

One thing I think I'd prefer instead of using the fanart for the background in context sensitive situations would be to use it as the thumbnail on screens that have the video preview thumbnail, and on the main menu use it as the Menu Icon (scaled down of course).

btl.

I'm assuming this is for pre-release 11, not 6 as indicated in the thread title, correct?
