Some oddities I'm trying to explain
I've noticed a few oddities with SageTV (I believe I'm running version 6.5 but I thought I saw it in the last version as well) that I'm having a hard time getting rid of.
First, SageTV doesn't seem to want to let me delete some shows? On occasion, there'll be a show I've recorded and watched and then want to delete immediately. I highlight delete and it asks me if I want to delete. "Yes" and then I go back to the list. Unfortunately, it's still in the list! It doesn't seem to want to go away. I've tried setting it watched but that doesn't help. Second, SageTV seems to have suddenly started recording shows that I don't want. The other night I pulled it up and it was showing 'The Hive' on the SciFi channel. I must have left it on LiveTV mode. I backed out to the menu and then noticed that it was recording the hive. Again, tonight, it's suddenly recording 'Star Trek'. I have no idea why. I didn't set it up to and SageTV is set to only record what I ask it to. When I went into the menu to stop the recording, it wouldn't stop. As a matter of fact, I couldn't find an option to make it stop. It seems odd that the system wouldn't allow you to stop a recording you were making by mistake. I hit this once before when I was recording on both HDHomerun channels. I had wanted to stop one from recording and there just seemed to be no way to do it. Any ideas behind these behaviors? How do I get rid of a show when #1 pops up and how do I prevent #2? |

Not sure about #1, but do you have multiple clients? If watching TV on a client, in order for Sage to stop recording the live TV you have to stop from the client (hitting stop on another client will not release the tuner from recording). I see this all the time when my loving wife is watching GSN in the bedroom and just turns off the tv.
The only other time I have seen Sage hold on to a tuner is when I have had a client crash while watching live tv and sometimes it wouldn't release the tuner on the server until I restarted Sage.

I have one server and one client. I'll try bouncing Sage and see what happens. Thanks. |

Are you running comskip? If something has a lock on the file it does not really delete and will show up again. Also: If you are running Sage as a service you may need to go into the service setup and make sure the id it runs under has the right to delete in the recording library.
Sounds like Intelligent recording is on. Check to see if it is in the general setting section. |
