Placeshifter for Linux Version 6.5

I have been pretty happy with SageTV for Linux, and am about to migrate to version 6.5. Once the migration is complete, I am looking at purchasing a placeshifter license to run on my laptop, which also runs Linux.

I am just curious if the placeshifter client is as stable as the Server under linux, and if so, is that still true for version 6.5? I would be running it across a Gigabit wired network, so no wireless concerns in my environment.

Hi Paul,

I use Placeshifter Client on 3 different Ubuntu machines, 1 Dell XPS desktop, a Dell Inspiron 710m laptop and an Asus eeePC900 Netbook. I have problems on the portables with the 6.5 version of Placeshifter (so I continue to use the 6.4.8 version which works fine) but 6.5 works fine on the desktop. The desktop uses nVidia graphics card and the two portables both use Intel Embedded for graphics. Not sure if that's the reason.

Thanks for the reply Rick. My laptop has an Nvidia Quadro card built-in, so it sounds like I might be ok with the latest version. I'll give it a shot.
