Hauppauge 1600 issue with latest Sage version

Is anyone having issues with the latest Sagetv version (6.5)?

I have my 1600 working perfectly with Sage version 6.3.5.159 using clear QAM channels. I installed the new version and now I get "no signal" everytime I switch QAM channels. The first channel I tune, it works, but if I go to another QAM channel, or an analog channel and then to different QAM channel, I get the no signal ...

When I installed the new sage version, I also installed the new java version, but I don't think that's the problem because I reverted back to 6.3.5.159 and it's working perfectly again ...

Any ideas??

Thanks!

I had a very similar problem. See here.

I went back to 4.2 of the drivers and it got much better, but still happened 1 in 20 or so channel changes.

Last weekend I upgraded to Vista Buisiness x64 and loaded the drivers that were available via Windows Update. I have not done an exhaustive test with that tuner since, but it seems to be working okay.

Thanks for the reply.

I just tested sage 6.4 and the same problem. So something was changed between 6.3 and 6.4 that caused this problem. I just reverted back to 6.3 and problem is gone again.

I'm using win xp and I'm not sure which drivers I have on my 1600. I haven't updated since I installed, so I believe it's pretty old ...

I need sage 6.4 and up, cause I just got an hd-pvr that I haven't even tested because of this unexpected issue with my flawless until now 1600 ...

Help?

BTW, I'm running drivers verion 3.4d1.

Where did you get 4.2 drivers? I might try the drivers mentioned here. But I'd like to try 4.2 as well, if those don't work.

But I'd appreciate an answer from somebody from the sage team, since it's very clear that something changed between 6.3 and 6.4 versions. I was reading the release notes for 6.4 and the only thing I could think of is added support to the new HVR cards from Hauppauge. Maybe something was changed to accommodate those cards and caused the older 1600 to not work ...

I don't like to update sage versions for this exact reason. Every time I do it, something goes wrong ....

I have been running v6.5.9 for a couple of weeks now with two 1600's and have not seen any problems.

I haven't had a problem with mine. I'm running 6.5.9 and have an HD-PVR and no major issues with either, but I don't usually flip channels live, that seems to always cause problems. I'm not sure what driver's I'm using on the 1600, but I haven't updated them in a while.

The biggest problem I've run into is every once in a while the IR blaster on the HD PVR stopps working so I have a bunch of recordings of whatever channel it last changed the box to marked as whatever channel Sage thought they were. It's only happened twice in probably the last few months and a reset of the server fixes it.
