I'm no expert but I googled and downloaded a free powerful program called Gimp last week for the first time. I then googled how to make transparent backgrounds in Gimp as I wanted the logo's to float over the background. I found a video that showed how to do it.

I then just saved the completed file as a .png file. Make sure you delete the jpg file from the directory because I think if SageTV finds a jpg file there with the same name it will use it first.

As Toronto said, Gimp is a great program (photoshop like). If your looking just to covert files then Irfanview allows you to crop, resize and convert files in batches.

I know bialio loves paint.net. I haven't used it but he said it is much easier to use than Gimp or Photoshop.

Aloha,
Mike
