Where is this "Firmware update menu?"

In the FAQ, in multiple posts it talks about a firmware update menu where you can key in a code to use the USB for recovery or a Beta Update.

I see nothing like this when i go to the system update. It gives me one option. "Check for updates", and then it tells me there are none?

So, how do i position myself to key in either "2382" for beta or '873' indicating to use the USB port to recover. This is the "recommended" approach in the FAQ and i can't see how it could work.

what am i missing?

Just enter beta typing on the remote when you first enter update and it will change to beta across the top then search for updates.

When you got to that screen did you type 2382 BEFORE you clicked the "Check for updates" button?
