Help I forgot my remote.

I went on vacation with the family. I did the real cool thing to make everyone happy. I copied a bunch of cool movies and recorded shows to my new tera byte sized drive. I tested the drive with my HD200. Grabed all lthe connecting cables I could possiblely need in the condo. Grabed the HD200 and drove to Jackson Wyoming and forgot my remote.

Is there any way to control a HD200 without the OEM remote? Alternate device I could purchase at K-mart or remote into it from my notebook? Any suggestions will be considered. Name calling will also be accepted at this point.

Thanks

If you have a laptop or PC access and can find store where you can go pick up a Harmony programable remote, then get it and you can download from logitech's harmony site the setup to control the HD200. Not an inexpensive solution but a solution nonetheless.

Postal service delivers on Sunday with over night shipping. You could have someone ship it to you. (Assuming someone is watching your house)

Other option, if you do have a laptop, install server (trial should be fine) and webserver on it. Control the box from the laptop.

The codes for the extender are in Universal Remote Control's database. I'm not aware of any universal remotes you can buy that have our codes pre-programmed as an option; but the possibilty does exist.

I would like to thank everyone for their suggestions. I have managed to get my notebook computer to output to the TV. But as you would expect it is not as cool or smooth as the HD200 would be. The redeeming factor is we can watch some of the shows the drive I brought along. I haven't given up hope. I do have a few questions.

I'm not sure what this means but I'm assuming that there is a data base somewhere that keeps a record of all the codes for each remote. And that when a manufacturer creates a remote that they want to have predefined codes installed they can go to this database in select the ones that they want to include in there remote. And that to date no one has included the codes for the HD200 extender in the predefined set of codes included in Universal Remotes on the market. Is there a way to use the information stored in this database to download to any remotes that are out there?

Are you saying that the HD200 extender can be controlled by the Webserver software? When I look at the Webserver on my SageTV server I can see an online remote for the local machine but I don't see anything for controlling remote machines. This may be because I don't have any extenders, clients, or placeshifter devices running. Do you have any more details on how to do this?

Thanks
