Forgot to backup Wiz.bin

Okay,

My computer had a bug and was acting really weird. It wouldn't go to sleep, etc and exhibited basically spyware symptoms. So I decided to format the hard drive and start over. Unfortunately I forgot to backup my wiz.bin

All of my recordings are on a separate drive so I still have those. Is there any way to recover my recordings into the recorded TV page? Right now the best I can hope for is to import them into videos. I will do that if I have no choice, but I'd rather havea way to import them as recordings. Any ideas?

I think there is a way to do this with Nielm's webserver plugin. I have not had to try this yet.

I use Cobian Backup 8 and I have several profiles I use, one is I backup the following
Sage.properties
Sage.properties.autobackup
Wiz.bin
Wiz.Bak

the other Sage profile I use is I backup the whole SageTV root folder.

I aso have a profile for my EventGhost settings.

I keep 30 days of all so I can't revert to any of them.

Recently I was getting that playback error everyone is getting and I reverted to one of my SageTV backups and that didn't work so I figured out that is wasn't a SageTV problem it was a Windows problem, I had to restore a backup of my windows drive, and I turned off all auto updates for windows and Java, because Windows and java was updated between the time I had no playback error and the playback error in SageTV.

On 11-08-08 I have a hard drive fried itself.
The drive was a
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB 7200 RPM
32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
Model #: ST3500320AS
it was partition as

Windows Drive - Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB 7200 RPM
Partitioned 120 gb for windows, 380 gb for pictures and mp3 music

I had all my SageTV backups on the 380gb drive which was drive D: , I have never had a drive fail by frying the electronics, the HTPC was connected to a APC battery backup.
When I took the drive out of the computer I smelled fried electrial, I tried the drive in my desktop machine and it wouldn't spin up, have sent it to Seagate warranty.

So my suggestion is keep you backups on a seperate physical drive and not a partitioned drive.

I would agree for full PC, or special file types (like database and mailboxes); but for simple types copying a file is copying a file.

BackupFiles works great, and I've certainly tested it enough times to be glad it's there

If paying for it makes you feel better, that is certainly a valid choice.

Anyone used this to generate the info to re-import recording back into SageTV, I lost all my SageTV and current backups due to hard drive failer, but I have all my recordings. I am in re-group mode. If you have done this please list the steps you used.
