Need help SageMc crashed my HD200

Hi all,
I'm new to SageTv as a whole and after using it for a week all natural, I decided to tryout SageMc. I exited sage (not sleep) and copied the sagemc files to my sagetv directory as indicated. Started SageTv and went to setup/detailed/advanced and loaded the sage mc xml. On my computer it worked like a champ changed immediately to the new menus. I went upstairs to the HD200 and if fails during load. I haven't tried a total reset, I'll give that a go and get back. The screen says something about failing to load sagemen..

Dan

Edit: Unplugging the HD200 doesn't cure it either

Not sure what you've done but you could try this:

Shut down SageTV/Server and the extender. Goto C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\Clients on your server and you should find a properties file (if you have more than one extender it could be trickier). Open the .properties file and find the line:

STV=

it will probably look like:

STV=C\:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\\SageTV3\SageMC_6_3_9a_8-6.xml

Delete everything after the "=" so it looks like STV=

Save and restart server etc.

This will clear the stvi you loaded and default back to the SageUI.

Not a problem, I do it all the time when using Studio. I don't think you installed SageMC correctly which is why it went Pete Tong. Did you install the new SageMC update named SageMC_6_3_9a_8 without installing SageMC 16x9 base install first?

I think I grabbed the full install since it was my first time, but I'll have to double check. I'm getting ready to leave for awhile so won't be able to track that until later.

Just got back and I indeed had installed the sagemc_6_3_9_full version. It is working as a client on my server PC, just didn't work on the HD200. Any ideas?

Did you restart SageTV on your server (including the service if you use it) after installation? You have to in order for SageTV to pick up the new jar files.

Aloha,
Mike

Mike,
I had closed Sage prior to installing SageMC so I had to restart it before I could pick the MC interface. I'll try to do it again and see if it makes any difference this time. It works as a client on my PC, which is also my server, just fails to completely load on my HD200. I'm running Sage 6.5.9 version if that makes any difference. I'm sure I don't have something set right, just don't know what it is at the moment.

Mike,
That was it. I thought when I would exit the sage icon in the taskbar it was shutting down the service. A check of processes clearly shows that was not the case. My bad. Menu is on my upstairs HDTV via extender now.

Thanks,
Dan
