Resume playback and recordings

Is there any setting to make resume playback work with recordings too?
In my system (server + 2 PC clients), I can see the resume playback work only with videos but not with recordings.

TV recordings automatically start where you last stopped watching it.

Local resume playback

Shouldn't "resume playback" positions be local?

Or better, shouldn't we have to be able to choose if we want to store the resume playback position on the server or keep it local?

And shouldn't we be asked if we want to resume from the server or local position?

Or, probably better, shouldn't Sage keep "per user" settings and let users to log in to know who is in control on that PC at that moment?

Thanks.

You can offer those up as suggestions to SageTV support but those options currently don't exist. If you're using the default SageTV STV then if someone watches a recording and stops it at the halfway point then, any client that chooses to watch that recording it will start playing at that halfway point.

So on your system if you have a recording and watch 5 minutes of it and then press stop on your remote and stop watching the recording you're saying the next time you watch that recording it doesn't start 5 minutes in where you left off?

Yes, it will start from the beginning again.
And, of course, I don't see the "watched" line on it, in the recordings list.
This is working with videos, instead.
-----------

About the centralized behaviour of resume playback, I can see this is clever and useful but often there are more than one people in a house so, IMHO, the devs should consider the possibility of a multiple user interface. I know it's easier said than done but every server-client system should be able to deal with more than one user.
An alternative could maybe be to store resume values locally on each client and, in the dialog that fires up when selecting a video, give us the option to choose if to resume to which's client point.
But this sounds more complicated than the multi user system.
-------

In the way it works now, does anybody know if it'is possible to disable the resume from stop function?

Thanks.

Try using a completely default setup w/o any customizations or hidden features active.

If recordings still don't remember the last-watched position when you stop & restart playback, then post a debug log from when it occurs.

If it works when no customizations are active, then add your customizations back one by one until it stops working & contact the customization's author.
