HD100 much better with blu rays with new firmware?

I'm doing some testing on my HD100 with the new firmware using the import a disk in the blu ray drive playback method and it's looking kind of exciting.

One of the disk rips that always made my hd100 hiccup is cloverfield (a VC1 disk.)

Well, just threw it in the blu-ray drive on my sage server and then refreshed my import directories and hit play and no hiccups during the first 5 minutes, which I believe I never got to happen before.

Also, one of the things I always noticed when having issues is that network utilization on my sage server would be inconsistent (lots of drops.) Well during this test I had a very smooth sustained network utilization of about 5% (on a gig nic so therefore about 50 megabit throughput? Other things going on in the background accounting for maybe 1 of the 5%.)

This is pretty damn exciting. Both that the 100 can playback the disk while just sitting in the server drive and more importantly the lack of hiccups. If I could have blu-ray disk playback without rips and without players at every TV that's pretty awesome.

More testing to come.

Sure would be great if placeshifter could also play.

Thanks Sage.

I noticed similar things.

I guess the HD100 cannot decode certain audio streams as half the time I have to change the audio around to find something that will play

I thought the HD100 mainly had problems with high-bitrate H.264 blu-ray discs. Has playback of those gotten any better?
