Not for recordings (eg HD PVR) Sage, AFAIK, always uses it's own demux for playback of recordings.

unless you override the demuxer via a reg setting this is correct.

everything but hdmi sound
I have been testing Sagetv the latest beta with the Win7 rc1 os.
I am using the latest HD_PVR beta driver and Power DVD 8 for both h.264 and mpeg2. Everything is working great with the exception of HDMI sound. I am using Catalyst 9.6 which includes the ATI HDMI driver. I do get sound from all of the windows apps like media center and I also get sound from Sagetv when I use one of the online services like utube. spidf sound works fine. Any ideas about how to get HDMI sound in Sagetv? BYW the same setup works fine in Vista so this is a Win7 only problem. |

SageTV runs perfectly fine in Vista on the Q6600 machine. On the same machine I have dual booted to test Windows 7. SageTV has a few PLAYBACK problems in Windows 7. I have tried both Arcsoft & CoreAVC h.264 decoders. I get some choppy playback. Both these decoders should support Nvidia hardware acceleration (8800gt). The other problem is that I cannot get any sound from SageTV. Yes, the video files play fine outside of SageTV including sound. The files play fine in Arcsoft player. The sound output is optical. Yes, my HD-200 plays the video files (and live TV) perfectly from the Windows 7 SageTV. But play back in SageTV appears to be broken. (recording source is hd-pvr)

I'm running Windows 7 x64, and Sage seems to be running OK. I installed these codecs:
http://shark007.net/win7codecs.html Plus bought the CoreAVC software. I'm still having problems with VC-1 HD and FLAC, but all my other video and audio play fine. BTW, the VC-1 HD plays great in PowerDVD.
