No Sound on some MKV files

Hello,

I recived my HD200 last week. At first i had a few bugs with it, but i worked through most of them by using the beta firmware, and finding out how to use a lowercase password.

The one i cant fix is that some of my MKV files have no sound. I can play MP3's and other MKV files just fine. I cant figure it out.

These same files play fine with VLC, or WMP.

I am streaming from another computer with a large raid array, i dont use the sage software at all.

Most likely it is because they have DTS sound, which the HD200 can't play. I use this tool: http://www.digital-digest.com/softwa...Converter.html to convert DTS sound to 5.1 AAC sound, and things work fine. It takes about 5-10 minutes per MKV file, most of which at 10-20gig blu-ray rips.

You could also try changing your audio setting to pass DTS through to the receiver. Forget which option it was, but it was the middle selection on the Audio menu.

Do you have a "optical" cable connected between the sage box and your receiver?

I recommend the Matroska Shell Extension, which you can download here: http://www.matroska.org/downloads/windows.html

It will let you right-click on a matroska file and see what audio tracks are included. DTS soundtracks show up as DCA, and if your setup is like mine, you'll get no sound out of your HD200 unless you convert the audio tracks first to something like AC3.

To convert DTS soundtracks to AC3, I prefer the Popcorn MKV AudioConverter which you can download here: http://audioconverter.heartware.dk/

The learning curve with it took me about 5 minutes, which I really appreciated.

My virus scan popped up on the file from this site:

I'd reccomend getting it from somewhere else.
