New Server, and am confused...

Hi gang!

I'm not sure why I don't know this... but thought I would ask the trusted sources here:

I currently have a HD Media extender and a computer that is running SageTV. The computer acts as both the Sage server as well as a viewer.

I am building a home server (running MS-Server 2008) and will retire the current computer from recording duties, but will keep it in use as a viewer.

Is there a specific Sage Server software I should run on my new server? Or do I have to purchase a complete new SageTV license even though I will not be using the server to view the recordings?

Many thanks...

-Mike

I would use your current Sage license on your new server, running the full sage v6 software, and purchase a copy of the Sage Client for the playback PC

This appears to be the proper course of action, then again anyone out there correct me if I am wrong.

If you've got a compelling reason for running Server 2008, obviously go for it. If not, I'd go for WHS and install the WHS version of Sage.
