HD200 Output Resolution

Sorry if this is answered here somewhere - I haven't been able to find it.

I have Native Output Resolution Switching enabled on the server and in the HD200 settings.

When I play a file that has an HD resolution, such as 1920x1080, it automatically sets the output resolution correctly. When I play a file that is 4:3 480i, it correctly sets the output resolution to 720x480i. But when I play a file that is 16:9 480i, it sets the output resolution to 720x480i. I have to manually toggle the output resolution to 1280x720p to get the desired results.

Is there a way to get it to set the output resolution to 1280x720p when I play a 16:9 480i file?

Thanks,

Mike.

If I am not mistaken, a 16:9 480i is just a stretched 720x480. 1280 x 720 is actually a 720P resolution. DVD's are often 16:9 480i.

Yes, 4:3 and 16:9 480i are both 720x480 with the whole frame used for video. If you've got Native Output Switching enabled I assume it's because you've got a better video processor downstream from the HD200 in which case you'd want 480i output as 480i regardless of if it's 16x9 or 4x3

Yeah, sorry, I don't know how I managed to get it so confused, but I turned off Native Output Resolution Switching and it all works as expected now. Thanks.
