Well, after trying the Belkin with no luck, I have a TrendNet TEW-644UB (on sale for $15 at Buy) on the way. I also put together a long list of RT2870 adapters, and found a cheap one on Amazon for a relatively random adapter. May get lucky.

Not sure if any follows this thread anymore. But the I can confirm the Trendnet adapter does work on the HD200. However, it will only work if I turn OFF wireless security - when I turn it on, on WEP (I know), it will not work.

Anyone come across this?

Are the adapter requirements the same for the HD300 as they are for the HD200? Same as everyone else I'm trying to find a good 5ghz adapter for it. Tried powerline networking in the location I plan to use it an it was a no go.

@sabre - Would you be willing to post the list you compiled of Ralink 2870 chipset based USB adapters perchance? tnx.

Additionally I have started a thread in the Hardware forum asking those that have had success with wireless USB to post their working device information, that thread is available here.

Thanks!

Which ENUWI-N Wireless Adapter Should I buy?

Greetings,

I have a couple of HD200 at home. I am moving and will like to know which wireless adapter should I buy: The ENCORE ENUWI-N Wireless, the ENUWI-N3 or the ENUWI-N4? Please respond at your earliest convenience. Anticipated thanks.

ENCORE ENUWI-N Wireless. That's the one the Sage store sold. The others won't work.

How did you set yours up? I just got a 664UB and tried it on both of my HD200s and couldn't get either of them to recognize anything but wired ethernet. I can set up a separate SSID with MAC filtering if security messes with the adapter.

The wired MAC on one is blank, but it's port is dead I'm sure. Lightning got it, 4 wires opened in the patch cord, and the port on my gig switch. Funny thing is, if I connect the laptop to that switch port I can surf the web on it.

I'm running my spare, but flaky, HD100 until I can find a work-around to the dead rj45 port on the 200.

I just updated to the latest software posted on the HD200 thread and still a no-go for the Trendnet 664UB. Either the internals are really hosed or it just doesn't work.

Are you aware of THIS? I'll post the working solution shortly in a separate thread.
