Yes I picked those up. Qian please seriously test with mpeg2-ts on w7 x64 on a core i7 so I know your next iteration will work in my setup. Thx.

Error is in DShowPlayer.dll not DShowCapture according to hs_err_pid####.log.

Used latest native recording patch from Qian. Works great on Vista 32. Causes reproducible crash on W7 x64 always in DShowPlayer.dll. Using 32-bit JRE 6 update 17. Using MPEG-2 TS and PS sources. Pls fix as I would love to have this since it does solve seeking and playback problems on imperfect captures.

I'm having a couple problems with my Win7x64 SageTV client, and I'm not sure if it is related to this patch. I'm getting an awful lot of hard lockups. A pretty significant percentage of the time when I try to watch live TV or a recording my computer will just completely lock up, requiring a hard reset.

The other problem I'm having it sometimes when I skip forward in a file, particularly when I skip foward 2 minutes instead of 10 seconds, video playback freezes for many tens of seconds, and network traffic spikes. Usually playback starts up again on its own after several tens of seconds.

Do either of those sound like things that could be related to this patch?

I run Windows 7 x64 also on an X58 motherboard, and experience hard locks also without the patch using the latest official SageTV. I have reduced the frequency of them buy disabling all the power saving options(C1E, PCIe link state, C1, etc) in the BIOS but I still get them. I still use Intel SpeedStep.

These occur when I fast forward through the recording or recorded LiveTV. When the show is about to resume the hard lock will occur.

I am now trying the hotfix MpegDemux and DShowPlayer(latest 2) to see if this helps.

I was able to create these using the AC3 filter, FFDshow Audio, or SageTV Audio decoder.

Also with SageTV video decoder and Cyberlink video decoder.

Right now this is the only application that will lock the machine.

Well that makes the fourth or fifth comment (including mine) that there is some problem with fast forwarding / skip forwarding on Windows 7.

1) I revert to the old Dshowplayer.
2) Start Sage and do a media scan.
3) Check to see that the movies are showing
4) Stop sage
5) Change the DShowplayer to the newer, Update 10 version
6) Restart Sage
Straykat, I just want to say thanks for this. I suddenly started having problems with files in my media library not showing up. Couldn't figure out what the problem was until I found this. Your solution worked perfectly.

Fix in the next beta.

Sorry for not posting a new update for your problems. Because we added new features into those DLLs that have to work with other code, it can't be updated separately. It will have to wait until a beta comes out.

So are you saying no more updates until Sage releases a full beta?

I think he is at the very least implying that there are additional changes now in that code that will break any application that doesn't also include some of the new code that exists in the new beta product.

I hope this also implies the near release to beta state of that product as many are now sitting with a sorta working and sorta broken system with the last beta versions of these files.

Fingers crossed.. would be a nice Valentines gift from Sage!

Unable to record two HD streams at once

Using a 2250, with the latest 27323 drivers, I can view and watch HD fine as long as only one tuner is being used.

Today with the super bowl game, it was fine for the first few minutes. But once NOVA started recording on the second HD tuner, the super bowl went blank.

The resulting mpg is corrupted. Again using an external player (VLC, mpc) I can only watch the first few minuets before it goes blank and freezes the player.

The NOVA recording is fine. The recording of the pre-game show on the same channel of the super bowl was fine.

here is the native log:
http://ordorica.org/misc/Native.log

Let me know what I can do to debug this.

I am going to try newer beta drivers, 27238, and see if it helps:

I just wanted to post an update. I spent all day Saturday tracing the problem with SageTV computer. It turned out that the X58 motherboard(Intel WX58BP) has an incompatibility with any pci express cards plugged into the PCI express 2.0 slots which is not a true PCI express 2.0 card. These errors show up in the System Log as WHEA 17 errors. These errors are PCI express bus errors which will cause the machine to hard lock under stressfull conditions.

Note the X58 chipset no matter what the motherboard manufacturer has this defect on stepping B2 and earlier. I don't know whether it has been resolved with B3 or greater. So my new MB is now a paper weight.

I went back to my old motherboard Intel D975XBX2, using the same other H/W(video, sound card, RAID card) no errors in event log and no lock ups thus far. I will report if there are any lock ups.

Currently I am running SageTV 6.6.2 with only replacing the MpegDemux.ax file from hot fix to native 10. Just replacing this file fixes the time sync problem and you can also use FFDSHow Video if desired.

I am using Windows 7 x64 with Java 6 Update 18.

What makes you say that? I know there are SATA controllers coming out that are PCIe 2.0.

However, it seems to be very common for motherboards to have a hard time using non-graphics cards in the PCIe 2.0 x16 slots. That's suppose to work though.

PCIe 2.0 is supposed to be completely backward compatible with PCIe 1.1. In fact the WX58BP motherboard had an option in the BIOS for each of the PCIe 2.0 slots to insure compatibility. However, it did not work. It was impossible to put the RAID controller in a non PCIe 2.0 slot.

In the old MB D975XBX2 the RAID controller is in a PCIe 2.0 slot also with no issues. I have recorded and watched 30 hours of olympics and other programs already with no issue. I could not get more than 3-4 hours out of the X58 chipset motherboard without issues.

There are many google complaints over the X58 chipset for example

http://communities.intel.com/message...7D15.node5COMS

This chipset is obviously defective.

My server has 6 PCIe 2.0 (16/8/8/8/8/4) slots. I don't think anybody would expect you to put even one video card (it has onboard video) in this box.

What advantages does this give to Vista Ultimate 64-bit users? I run SageTV on my Vista 64 box. SageTV quality does not match my DVR's recording quality, but I guess that is to be expected when you are copying a copy from the DVR.
