Unhappy HD200 locks up (freezes) when watching live TV

When watching live TV, playback randomnly freezes and then restarts after several seconds. There doesn't seem to be any specific amount of time between these stutters, but enough that it makes watching live TV unbearable. I've tried to pause playback so it will buffer the stream, then resume playback; this seems to improve things somewhat but then the entire playback will eventually freeze completely and I'm forced to either do a hard or soft reset of the HD200.

Recorded TV plays back without any issues however.

Sage is running on a Core i7 system (XP SP3) which has its recording directories stored on a NAS drive. Using a Hauppauge HVR-1600 capture card with digital cable. The entire network is wired Gigabit with the NAS being connected to the gig switch using adapter teaming @ 2Gbps; so I'm confident it is not a network issue.

I've got the latest firmware on the HD200 and running the latest STV's and S/W on the Media server.

Any suggestions or help appreciated.

I see this on my system if I tax the server (run comskip, copy files to/from the server elsewhere on the network, etc.)

Might be worth seeing what processes are running on the server when you have the problem. If you comskip processing, try stopping that and see if it makes a difference.

Could it be an issue with saving and playing back of the same stream from your NAS? With a recording, you are only asking your NAS to playback, but with watching live tv, not only are you asking it to play back, but record (a second or two ahead) at the same time.

You can also try going back to older HD200 firmware. I use 20090505 and have gotten rid of most/all problems.

I'd like to revert back to an older firmware rev since I wasn't having these problems until after this recent upgrade. I must be daft, because I have searched the forums and the company web site, but I cannot find a software repository with legacy firmware nor is it clear from the manual how I would manually revert back to an older rev if I had it.

Any help getting me pointed in the right direction would be great.

As for the other suggestions, my server is currently doing nothing but running SageTV, so resources are plentiful. The NAS / server combination gave me 50 MB/s download and 45 MB/s upload in a concurrent throughput test I ran, so I'm confident the network, server and NAS are not bottlenecks nor contributing to the issue.
