Client software not working: ati2dvag error

SageTV works fine on the server, but with the client all I get is the ati2dvag error (usually get a blue screen followed by reboot). The Default quality is set to SVCD Extra Long Play.

Someone suggested reducing hardware acceleration to elimiminate the ati2dvag error (and blue screen). This isn't working for me.

For about a year I made no changes to my SageTV settings. Then I made some changes yesterday but can't seem to figure out what setting triggered this.

I never really figured this out.

I tried downloading the lastest video card drivers (ATI Radeon 9200 series) but this didn't solve the problem. It's a 64MB Agp card.

I have an old 8MB PCI Radeon card. I switched to this card, and the client software began working immediately. I didn't even have to install a driver.

The performance of this card is lackluster (doubt I'll be able to playback HD recordings), but for the moment it's better than nothing.
