Dropping Frames

I have had my hd-200 box for about a week now and other than a few glitches it runs good.

The one problem I see is when I set the display to 1080i. While streaming an .iso from my network server it seems like a few frames are getting dropped. If I switch the display output to 720p or 480p I don't see this problem. Since the same amout of data is sent for any of the display modes, I don't think it is a network problem.

I am guessing that it is a transcoding problem. Could the hd-200 be dropping the frames or does my tv have problems? I have streamed component video at 1080i to the tv and have not had any problems before.

The server doesn't transcode streams to the HD200, so that isn't it.

Could be a refresh rate issue. I was having the problem and called it "microstutter" or twitching. Check out this thread, posts 54 and 58 for my solution. Solved the problem 99% of the time. I still have a small stutter once or twice an hour, much better than once or twice a minute!

I was using the hd200 as an extender though. Not sure if you can set a custom resolution when using it as a media player not connected to sage server.
