USB HDTV Tuner Not Found

I just attempted to add a VBox Cat's Eye USB 3560 OTA HDTV tuner to an existing (v4.0) system, but the tuner does not show up when I attempt to add a source. I fear my problem may be that I already have a VBox PCI HDTV card that uses the same BDA tuner driver. Both devices and tuners show up under Device Manager in my WindowsXP system.

Any help in getting this source recognized would be greatly appreciated.

Do you run Sage as a service? If the service was already running when you installed drivers for the new tuner, it won't see the change until you reboot or restart the service.

Sage is just run as an application. I shut down Sage prior to the installation and rebooted after the driver update.

You could take a look at mmc/ignore_encoders in Sage.properties to see if your Vbox USB tuner somehow got into that list.

For what it's worth, I have three Vbox 3560s and never had a problem getting Sage to recognize them.

Well, I removed the line after I installed the USB tuner because it added the PCI device to the list after I did the driver update, but the USB device was not on the list. For what it's worth, I tested the device on a 6.4x system that also has a Vbox PCI tuner in it and the tuner appeared without incident, so the two types of devices can coexist. I've also seen older threads where others have gotten this (USB) device to work under earlier SageTV releases, so it's a real head-scratcher...
