Does the future look bright? - SageTV & Playon

The alpha stage of this work by evilpenguin & simonen is very exciting and I'm very curious about its future. Some random thoughts...

- Watched status within the hulu queue would be great - or the ability to remove the show from the queue via the client UI.
Does the existing NetFlix stvi have some merit here. The problem with that plugin is always the playnow feature but I think the queue handshakes are stable. Is this stvi approach possible with the hulu website?

- It would be great to somehow have an stvi which allows the SageTV client to send the server an 'update xml' status signal. Maybe automatically when browsing into the 'Online Service' menu.

- Sub-categories within 'Online Services'? Seems possible from Opus' post but just not implemented yet. Maybe a completely new 'Playon' menu is more appropriate? Complete with fanart & detailed info !

- It seems that all the requests for mlb.tv from users could also be implemented with playon (nba & nfl already exist) but needs playon development work.

- Will this work allow direct streaming from network sites (CBS,NBC etc) or is it completely dependent on whatever playon allows. And if it is dependent, does anyone have an idea of what playons future 3rd party apps might bring us?
