DTV Serial in Linux

Ok, so I made the plunge this weekend to switch from WinXP to Linux. I seem to have hit a small snag and I was hopeful someone here could possibly help out.

My configuration has (2) DTV H23-600s using HD-PVRs to stream video switching channels via serial to USB. I have accomplished receiving video from both devices but can only change channels on one of them.

Some steps that I have taken thus far are:

Create three files in Sage's opt directory named:

Code:
touch /opt/sagetv/server/DTVSERIAL_9600
touch /opt/sagetv/server/DTVSERIAL_NEWCMD
touch /opt/sagetv/server/DTVSERIAL_FAST
I created symbolic links for /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyUSB1 to point to corresponding serial ports in /dev.

Code:
mv /dev/ttyS1 /dev/ttyS1_bck
ln -s /dev/ttyUSB0 /dev/ttyS1
mv /dev/ttyS2 /dev/ttyS2_bck
ln -s /dev/ttyUSB1 /dev/ttyS2
Then of course set up the device in Sage using the the correct com port.

An one device will change channels the other would not. Anyone have any tips on trouble shooting. I have included captures from: lshw and lsusb as well as my /dev/tty# structure.

Am I missing something? Any tips or ideas for troubleshooting that anyone has would be greatly appreciated!

I would find directv.pl via a search engine and make sure channel changing works outside of SageTV. If it does, then make sure you're using com1 for tty0 and com2 for tty1.

Other than that, it would be more helpful to enable debug logging and post the section pertaining to the failed channel change.

PS - What are you using for a cable?
