Sage Recordings Disappeared

Last weekend, I installed a new hard-drive to have more space for my shows. As I was installing it, I had plugged in my flash-drive at the same time. This set off the lettering for my drives. After the new hard-drive was installed, I went into Sage and changed the recording directories to reflect the changes on my system.

Unfortunately, due to the drive letters changing, a ton of my recordings have disappeared from the Sage Recordings page. For example, I had recorded all of the Hogan's Heroes (80+ episodes). I can find them on my hard-drive with (For example: HogansHeroes-CupidComestoStalag13-5137164-0.mpg) but sage shows none of them.

I have tried the following changes in Sage.properties at different moments

Code:
advanced_video_file_recovery=true
repair_mismatched_media_filenames=true
But unfortunately, Sage never recognized them. I would love to get all my videos back into Sage Recordings.

Any ideas what I can do to find video bliss again?

Thanks!

You could go into Windows and set the flash drive to Z and then set your drives back to the letters they were originally.

Use UNC paths rather than drive letters. Go into Windows and share the drive. The path to the videos folder will be \\pcname\shared_drive\videos\.

This will solve problems with extenders and clients as well.

So I went in and shared all four drives. And then I added the first drive according to the UNC address (by putting \\192.168.x.x\d\ : where d is the letter of the shared drive).

The first one worked like a charm.

The other three keep giving me an error message: The directory XYZ does not exits would you like to create it?

I have gone in and removed sharing and put it back but the result is the same. I cannot add the other three drives.

Any ideas why?

I recall reading that there are issues with Sage and UNC paths, but I can't recall specifics.

I fixed my problem with the UNC path. If people are having problem with UNC paths in Sage and have XP SP3, they should refer to this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/285089/en-us

Sage is currently rebuilding the library we will see if it puts everything back....
