Changing default starting channel of EPG

Sorry if this has been covered, but is there a way to change the default starting channel of the EPG when SageTV first starts up? For example, Sage always starts on channel 2 and I have to page up 6 or 7 times to get to the HD channels (701 and up) in my EPG, which is where I want to start my viewing. Is there a way to get the EPG to start on channel 702 when it first boots up?

I would love to know this as well as I would prefer to start at 501 which is where my HD channels are.

Well, this isn't so much a question about the EPG service or program guide data; it's a question about the presentation of that data in the SageTV UI.

That said, in terms of out-of-the-box features you can choose to sort the guide by name instead of by channel number (which you may or may not find useful), or you can key in the digits 702 followed by Enter instead of paging down a whole bunch of times.

More can be done with customizations. There's a Favorite Channels plugin that might appeal to you. Or if you want to roll your own, you can write code to sort the channel list any way you please.

Very true, but wouldn't it be much easier to just edit sage.properties so that epg/startchannel=702 rather than remapping 40 channels or so. Or better yet - set this in the sage UI under Setup.
