Skirge01, thanks for the pointers! I was able to add a "-" command to the MCE Remote in the Harmony software and set up channel favorites. Then I realized "Hey, these aren't that useful for me". I very rarely watch Live TV and when I do it is really not that difficult to do it through the guide since I don't have that many channels. I could see it being useful for someone who just wanted to cruise around their favorite channels live (CNN, ESPN, etc), but I quickly discovered it wasn't that useful for my viewing habits.
So... my next quest with the "Harmony magic" is to find a way to program a (soft) button that would take me directly to a specific show. For instance, I would like to press a button in the on screen menu called "Sesame Street" and have it take me directly to the Sesame Street recordings list (using a sequence for example). Any ideas/clues on how to do this? I wonder if it is even possible?

I doubt that this is possible with the remote - you might be able to dop this with something like the web remote version of SageTV or the apps for iDevices or Android.

The following URL will bring up all of the Sesame Street shows on my Sage server on a web browser. You could then click on the show and play it on any currently active SageClient. But I don't think you can do all of this with IR commands, unless you are using a PC program to turn an IR command into a URL command.

Code:
http://servername:8080/sage/Search?SearchString=sesame&searchType=TVFiles

LOL! I was really surprised that a SageTV user wanted to program favorite channels for that very reason, but who am I to judge? At least you learned some new tricks with EG and Harmony.

I'm with wayner on your other request. I don't believe there's any way to have Sage search for a program for you, which is essentially what you're asking for. Somehow, you'd need Sage to go searching through all your recordings and locate Sesame Street. The only way I know to do that is manually going through the menus.

Don't tell PluckyHD I said this , but why don't you go over to the Diamond forum and post this idea in their "requests" thread? If anyone could do, it'd be those guys. But, I honestly don't think it's feasible.

Well, I can send a command from the Harmony to EventGhost and then I can do whatever combination of keyboard shortcuts I want in EventGhost for the given IR command. So exactly how could I use keyboard shortcuts to get to a specific series no matter what screen I was currently on?
