QAM - physical / virtual

My local cable company did something amazing.. They made all the old analog channels avail on CLEAR QAM, and announced it!!!!!!!

I am looking at getting a couple more HDHR (or get a couple Hauppauge 2250), to bring my total number of digital tuners up to 10.. I chose this number based on the fact that ALL channels that I watch are contained on 10 physical channels!!!

If I had a physical digital tuner for each physical channel that is tuned, is there a way to tell Sage that every channel is always avail????

Before anyone asks, here is the channel list (this is all avail - * is not avail via analog)

No, Sage does not currently support this - you can only record one sub-channel at a time with each tuner.

There have been other threads discussing this and there are a few others who would like this feature, but it would probably be trickier for Sage to implement than it first appears. For one, the start and end times of individual shows on the various sub-channels wouldn't necessarily line up, so managing the tuners would be difficult.

I was a bit shocked to see that Comcast opened up quite a few more channels in the basic tier with QAM so I'm getting more use out of my HDHomerun but I don't think I'd be investing in anymore hardware since they can just as easily take it away anytime.

I no longer have Suddenlink but it's really good to hear that they've done that!

That sucks.. Oh well... Its not like I have a need to record every channel all the time. My current setup of 2 analog and 4 digital tuners, I rarely have any conflicts (usually OTA related)...

I haven't heard anything about the Lubbock market, but I'm going to assume that it is also the same.. I know the Midland market opened up like Big Spring.. They have been making a big deal about Suddenlink doing "the first" fiber network in Big Spring (just like the big cities - lol)............

An interesting note, there have been some roaming digital channels, mostly Lubbock locals.. They are viewable for an hr or so then disappear and are not part of the normal lineup..

Would Big Spring really benefit that much? I honestly don't know anything about that place.

I think I might of saw this the other night. I'm used to Lubbock having their 11-1 and 11-2 digital broadcasts, but for some reason, 11-3 popped up and added itself to my EPG. I honestly couldn't get anything so I just got rid of it. Think that was something similar?
