Trial on screen

Why does TRIAL appear on my screen now? I have a paid version, does this something to do with the new version 7 of sagetv?

Make sure you've registered the Placeshifter license on your SageTV server by following the instructions in Appendix N of the SageTV PDF manual.

If you didn't exit SageTV on the server when you previously tried to register the license, try again after exiting.

that did the trick for me. I am surprised because my placeshifter license was already installed and i have restarted sagetv service several times. I was in the process of writing a reply to this thread with my error message as well while I remotely restarted the sagetv service and viola! it worked. so quickly updated my reply with a success. thanks andy.

wait a second!! now my hd100 is giving me that error!!!! what gives. it has never done that...even though i have both licenses installed, is it only allowing me to use one at a time (placeshift or extend) and since i turned on the placeshifter right after server restart it took priority and now my extender is without valid license??

I just started having this problem this morning...when I try to access my placeshifter from my Mac with the Hd100 running, i get the red error message that my trial has expired. When i turn off the hd100 and then start up the placeshifter, it works just fine. With the placeshifter now loaded, when i turn on the hd100 it give me the error message, trial has expired!!! completely dumbfounded..i have reinstalled both license for mvp and placeshifter on sagetv logged in as the service user and still no luck. Any thoughts?

bump...any thoughts...when i access hd100 ti loads but then cannot use placeshifter...vice versa also true, hd100 doesn't load without expired trial warning after placeshifter is run on another computer...almost seems as if only one device can be loaded...either hd100 or placeshifter. not both.

Did you follow the instruction in the manual when registering both/all your placeshifter & extender licenses? When you run the program to register an extender license, how many valid licenses does it say you have registered?

it tells me that i have two valid extender placeshifter licenses...i have also tried to uninstall both licenses and reinstall without success...never had this before V7 and have tried HD100 first, PS second no luck. tried two placeshifters no luck and tried PS first, then HD 100 and still same result on the second device while the first is running...
