Clean install for V7 possible for upgrade?

Hello!

Well, my motherboard died and I'm in the process of getting everything back up and running with a new motherboard and before I mess something up I figured I'd ask first I'm also installing Sage on a new hard drive that I just bought.

I'd like to do a clean install of V7 but not sure how Sage checks to see if it is an upgrade or a new user (maybe by my username/email but not sure). I still have my other hard drive with SageTv V7 on it from right before my motherboard died and can access that hard drive no problem.

What is the best (or only maybe?) way to do this? Do I need to re-install V6 with my product key and all that or can I simply install V7 right from the get go? I have made copies of the properties file and wiz.bin so I think I'm good to go there.

I apologize if this has been asked before but I did a search and kept getting nearly as many pages as are in this forum and scanning the topics I didn't see where this had been asked before.

Thanks!!!

clean install would probably be preferred. You dont' ahve to have an old version installed to use an 'upgrade' key.. you just ahve to enter your original key frist, then the upgrade key.

Excellent! Thanks much, Fuzzy! I should be getting to that point here shortly. Didn't have an image (whoops) so am going through all the updates and all that jazz now. Thanks again!
