1.5x faster CPU. Will this be fast enough for Ortus?

Congrats Sage!

The HD300 sounds awesome. I can wait to get one (at least).
I'll probably be searching EBAY for some old HD200s soon too. I still have 3 MediaMVPs in use (along with two HD100s). I think it's about time to retire those old MVPs.

I was worried at first when I saw the pics, as my projector is component only, but the breakout cable is perfect.

(i'm starting to salivate)

Can anyone in the know (=beta testers) tell us if this is the 'same' as the ir extender that we'd have laying around from an old hauppauge card, or perhaps the USBUIRT?

mini-phono plug, I think.

It is a bit faster but still does not handle 3d transformations.

I agree, some kind of built-in internet services would be nice so another device wouldn't be necessary. I'm also not too thrilled with the silver case color but everything else sounds great (especially price).

I think that rushing sound is the sound of HD100s and HD200s losing all their asking price on Ebay...

Seriously, good day! Pre-order in (first product I've ever pre-ordered) and I can't wait for mid-September.

Ahh, I'm going to miss this thread. And to think I started this whole mess. Too bad my HD200/300 extender money has already been spent. I will have to find a way to work it back into the budget.

HD300 DTS downmix, can someone confirm?

I read the HD300 will to DTS passthru or downmix. Just to make sure, I'd like someone to confirm that the following will work:

An HD300, driven by a SageTV 7 server and connected to a TV by HDMI only will play an M2TS file containing a DTS audio track and downmix/output 2-ch audio in a format most TVs can understand to the TV over the HDMI connection.

Yes/No? I'm concerned "downmix" means "downmix to 2ch and only output over the RCA output jacks on the HD300.

OK. I believe your order may have gone in well before mine. Could you and others who pre-order the HD300 disclose your order number? Mine was 47809. Of course, I am assuming they continue in sequence, which may not be the case; but, if it is the case, I would like to know if mine will arrive in the first batch. This reminds me of HD PVR pre-orders when it was first announced.

No doubt. I actually have two extra HD-100s that I had thought about selling on Ebay. Oh well, that is what I get for forgetting to do it! I'm sure the value just dropped at least $100 compared to last week.

This would be worth it for the DTS downmix alone! And at a great price! Now to click away from this thread before I make a purchase that my wallet will regret....

So for the full Ortus experience I'll need an i3 or i5 client?

You'll also need us to pull our fingers out and finish it and by that time you'll be fine with the current line of extenders which I guess will be HD500's.

Cheers

Ben

Oh no. You mean we have to go through the "sagetv is failing because they're extenders are on back order" threads 2 more times before we get Ortus sugar?
