Cool V7 SageMC Upgrade instructions needed

Hi all,
This is my first time doing an upgrade of Sage MC.

I think I checked all the links in this forum, but didn't see any setup instructions.

Do I have to do anything other than run the setup file? Do I have to uninstall my old version (6.6) first? Will the new version keep all my old HDHR (.frq and .scn files) and other Sage detailed-setup info?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Summer has finally arrived in upstate NY. Winter probably next week
DJ

These are the steps I took....

1) Shut down SageTV program and Sage Service.
2) Copied my Programs Files/SageTV folder to a safe location (V6 folder)
3) Ran the V7 Upgrade setup file
4) Enjoyed the new V7 features!

That is pretty much it. You don't need to uninstall V6 prior to installing V7, but I would recommend backing up (copying) your V6 folder just in case something blows up on V7 and you need to revert back to V6. There is no method to revert back to V6 unless you manually saved the V6 folder somewhere else.

Thanks Fanatic. Sounds pretty straight-forward.

I guess I should note that if you were using BMT under V6, you probably want to run this BMT Library Upgrade Tool for V7. Apparently there can be a problem when you upgrade from V6 to V7 if you used BMT under V6.

I just started using BMT after upgrading to V7, so this wasn't an issue for me.
