USB-UIRT ZONE CONTROL

I’ve been running an old version of SageTV on a XP box, recording standard def TV from both the wall and from a cable box. I am completely upgrading everything. My lineup IS:
  • - New i5 Win7 x64 box almost solely dedicated to Sage for both recording and playback.
  • - HDTV – only place I will view recorded programs – connected to the box.
  • - Two new (HD capable) Motorola DCT6200 from the cable provider
  • - HVR-2250 connected to cable from the “wall” for basic channels
  • - Two HDPVRs, each connected to a separate Motorola DCT6200 for encrypted and premium channels
  • - USB-UIRT to control the 2 HDPVRs
  • - SageTV v7
I have everything installed and configured and it seems to be working OK although I haven’t fully tested everything yet.
  • - The HVR2250 is configured to do the tuning for cable “from the wall”
  • - The 2 HDPVRs are configured to use the Motorolas via the USB-UIRT. I used the selection for Motorola DCT2000 as recommended in another post – it seems to work OK. They are connected using the component cables. I used the .301 driver.
  • - The USB-UIRT is set up as recommended in http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...sb-uirt&page=6 post #106. All 3 zones are transmitting (the same channel of course)
  • - The USB-UIRT has been set up to only be a blaster not a remote.
I have hit a possible snag on configuring the USB-UIRT for zone control.

In reading the post #9 in http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...=USB+UIRT+zone it mentions that I should find 3 ir files. However I only find one ir file. Can I just make 2 additional copies of the file with different names and apply the Z1, Z2, Z3 modification to the 3 files respectively? Or have I developed some problem during the installation of the USB-UIRT?

Thanks for your help.

Yes you can. But after you make the copies and each has a unique name, make sure that the first line of the .ir file contains the same unique name as the unique name of the .ir file.

For example:
If file 1 is named DirTV001.ir the first line of the ir file should read DirTV001 # # # ... etc
If file 2 is named DirTV002.ir the first line of the second ir file should start with DirTV002 # # # ... etc
