External Media Player using Sage v7?
I have seen a couple of posts that talk about using SageMC or the Dynamic Menus plugin to allow sage v6 to launch an external media player like Windows Media Center does. Is there a way to get the functionality working in v7? Basically I would like to use sagetv to navigate my video collection (DVD/Bluray), but then use arcserve's TMT to actually play the videos. There are a fair number of dvd's in my collection that play great in TMT, but are almost unwatchable in the native sage media player. I also like that TMT allows me to access/view the Title screen during Bluray playback which sage does not. Any help would be appreciated.

Just a quick follow-up. I have also tried the "Run External Apps" plugin that someone created for v6, but there are a couple of issues with that as well:
1. The UI for this plugin is pretty much unreadable in v7 so I had to manually edit the sage client properties file to get it setup. 2. When I choose to launch a video via the external app nothing happens. I have verified that the .bat file that I created does in fact launch my TMT player as expected if I manually run it, but sagetv does seem to run it from the UI. I would really prefer to just substitute the default sage media player (mplayer?) with TMT, but haven't found an easy way to do this yet. Any help would be wonderful... |

I haven't moved to Sage7 yet in my production machine, but One of the things that I have to do prior to the move is get TMT3 to play back the BluRay rips. It'll be a while before I get a chance to tackle it, but it will hopefully be a bit better than the current solution I have hacked together in v6. that solution there won't work in v7, because it HAS BDMV playback capabilities, so it doesn't trigger the error that my import was using. instead, I'll have to launch it as a media_player_plugin_class/bluray java class file... which I still have to learn how to make...

How did you get your plug-in to launch TMT? I don't need the ability to detect if the movie is in BluRay format as I just want all of my movies (DVD or BluRay) to play in TMT instead of the default player. Any direction you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have a solution / option of using an external player? I'm using SMM w/ iso rips and would like to mount with Virtual CloneDrive to play with PowerDVD. Looks like there might have been some v6 options, but I can't find anything for v7.

There is an external launcher for v7 but it doesn't work in smm yet it will be in the next build to make them work together.
