Blu-ray iso playback with XP server and HD100

Trying to get my HD100 to playback iso ripped blurays, my server runs Win XP SP3.

I have installed Virtual Clonedrive and Toshiba UDF 2.5 drivers and can mount and browse the iso's fine manually.

Sage running in service mode has a problem though:-

Sun 7/4 23:52:18.047 [Ministry@9e5e7e] Didn't find VCDDriveMask in HKCU, check all users in the registry to find it
Sun 7/4 23:52:18.048 [Ministry@9e5e7e] Could not get VCDDriveMask from registry, using forced value from properties file of: 0x0

Sun 7/4 23:52:18.066 [Ministry@9e5e7e] ERROR Could not find a free drive to use as a mount point with VCDMount

but VCDDriveMask is in my registry under HKCU, its set to 8.

Anyone have this setup working?

I've been trying to figure out the same type of issue on my setup.

One person suggested that when Sage is running as a Service it is running under the local system account which is not the same account that Virtual Clone Drive is installed under.

You apparently need to switch your Sage service to run under the same user account as the one you installed Virtual Clone Drive under so that the Sage service can access the Virtual Clone Drives.

I tried doing this, but Sage keeps telling me i'm entering the wrong username/password combination and won't let me switch the user account that the service is running under. Maybe you'll have better luck?

You need to "authorize" the user to log on as a service. Got to Start-> Run, enter "services.msc". Then go to the SageTV Service, properties, logon tab and enter the desired logon info.

In addition to changing the information in the SageTV Services Manager? Why wouldn't the services manager just update the service itself?

I'll give that a try tonight and see what happens.

Thanks for the tip!

As near as I can tell it's a Windows thing, probably a security measure. Windows won't allow a user to run as a service unless that user has been given the run as a service right.

In sage.properties I found:-
forced_vcd_drivemask=0

changed this to 8 (same as registry setting), then get:-

I tried your suggestion and it did get Sage running under my local account. It also sync'd with the Sage Services manager, so it was just odd that I could change it in Windows but not in Sage Services.

Regardless, it did not solve the issue at hand, I still can't see any BD ISO's in my Sage.

I've got a support ticket in with them, hopefully I'll hear back soon.

Fixed

Ok, thanks to Sage support got this working OK now

So I just needed to go into Detailed Setup -> Advanced and do a scan from there to get it to re-read the metadata correctly as due to my trying it had detected the .iso's before but incorrectly.

So it looks like for a new setup you just need the properties file entry so that server mode can mount the virtual drive.

Thanks for the tip about running the media import from the setup menu.

I did the following and now have access to my BD ISO files as well:

1. Added a second Clone Drive (was previously tried and did not resolve the issue so it was removed. I added it back in at the request of Sage support).

2. I ensured no ISO files were mounted in Windows before loading Sage

3. I ran the media import from the Advanced Setup menu

Thanks. Was able to get this running through an Hd200 with the suggestions above.

I have only tried two blu ray .isos. Both mounted fine after the advanced scan. The iso file sits on a NAS (unRAID). Sage Server is on Win7 on an Ion2 platform. Viewer is a hd200. Does the sage server have to do anything in this situation that would be CPU intensive? The quad core CPU on the Ion is pretty dang close to idle. All networks are gig-e.

On playback, the video one runs for 10 to 20 seconds and then stops for a few seconds and then continues. This behavior repeats. No audio despite which channel I select (AC3, DTS-MA, french, spanish, etc). Using the stereo RCAs out right now.

Runs fine from a PC on the network via mounting the iso manually and playing back with WMP under Win7. I haven't set up a v7 client on a PC yet.

Don't believe so.

You will only get DTS audio via the SPDIF output I think with Bluray.

Search the forums, I have seen posts with people with Gb ethernets getting pausing issues, could be that.
