Case and point!! It is sad but porn defines the adoption of most new technology.

I myself don't think the 3d is a fail this time me and my wife enjoy the occasional movie in 3d at home and thinks it adds a nice extra layer of enjoyment. I myself am amazed at the clarity of the 3d mostly because you are getting double the resolution (1080p to each eye) it really is impressive to us. We were not impressed in the stores but when we got it home with the lights off we were. But as fuzzy said porn and a new 24 porn will drive the adaption. I just hope they keep coming out with new movies as well.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program Phoenix.

Never fear. There will always be new porn coming out.

What do you mean that's not what you meant?

Cover Flow for Phoenix.

When you pause on a movie for X seconds, the cover slides out and up into this next screen :

which has a limited selection of options - play, set watched, and fetch metadata.

Here's a video clip:

Looks very nice. I like the fact that you have kept the covers to the bottom half of the screen. This really allows the fanart to become a major viewing feature. Most of the visually important part of fanart (e.g. faces) occurs in the upper half.

I really like the rounding of the corners....I notice that on other screen shots you have square corners for the images. Is this on purpose or are you still in the "design/experimentation" phase?

Looks great....

There's an option to enabled / disable rounded corners.

I still don't get the difference between a TV show and an archived one?

Archived is a mechanism that Sage provides for separating out some recordings. Some people use it to hide shows they've already seen (older seasons of TV shows for instance). I use it to separate out Kids shows.

Perhaps he was asking why the layout is different in the screenshots above (between recorded and archived)? One has the episodes on the right and episode detail at the top, the other has generic show description on the right and nothing at the top.

What is the situation with the "TV Seasons" coverflow look, vs. the "TV Shows" and "Archived TV Shows" banner look? Is "TV Seasons" a separate filter setting that carries the coverflow look, or are there options to have the coverflow or banner looks for any of these (and you just happened to have them set this way for the screenshots)?

Those shots just show some of the different options for recorded TV (first three) and movies. The 'malore' style is there (top one) and then a couple of variations on the single list (Banners enabled/disabled, etc).

TV Shows, Archived TV Shows, TV Seasons are 3 different views I have defined, each grouped/filtered/sorted differently. Any view can be displayed in these different variations pictured most recently - the cover flow / grid style browsers are a little more limited on what views they work with.
