Favorite recording match - partial or exact?
Yesterday, I noticed a new show in the EPG that I wanted to set as a favorite for future recording. I configured and saw the show highlighted in bold in the EPG with an "F" - all good, the show was a favorite and set to record.
Tonight, my show didn't record and I'm wondering if the favorites require an exact match on the title or if SageTV will recorde favorites based on partial matches of the favorite title? I noticed the title of the show in the EPG changed to include "- Premier" in the title and I don't think it was there yesterday when I configured the favorite. I've done an extensive search and cannot find the answer so please excuse if it is somewhere and I just haven't seen it. |

Title Favorites match the full title - if they've changed the title, it won't match.
If you want to be able to do partial matches, then you could use a Keyword Title Favorite - pages 66-67 in the v6.6 PDF manual. - Andy

I know, old thread, but my question is related.
I often set up Favorite movie title matches so that whenever a new release premiers on HBO etc., it's picked up without me thinking about it. Problem is, I can't seem to get an EXACT match. For example, if I want to match only the movie "Drive" I tried using a category (Movie) and TITLE keyword match of "TITLE:Drive" But it partially matches anything with Drive in the title. Is there a way around this? RegExp maybe?

If it accepts regex then try ^Drive$
That regex will match only the word "Drive", exactly.
